What are the 2 extremes on the environmental continuum?
Open and closed.
What is a closed skill?
A skill performed in a predictable environment.
What is an open skill?

What are the 2 extremes on a difficulty continuum?

What are the 2 extremes on the organisational continuum?
High and low
What is low organisational?
A skill that can be broken down into parts and practised separately.
What is high organisational?
A skill that cannot be broken down into parts, skill needs to be practised as a whole.
What are the 4 types of practise structure?
Fixed, variable, massed and distributed.
What is fixed practise?
Repeatedly practising a whole skill within a training session.
What is variable practise?
A training session that includes frequent changes to task so that the skills can be repeated in different situation.
What is massed practice?
Practice that occurs without breaks between attempts.
What is distributed practice?
Intervals between skill practice in a training session for rest or mental rehearsal.
What does SMART stand for?
Specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, time bound.
Why do we set goals?
Asses strengths/weaknesses, improve overall performance, to motivate.
What are the 4 types of guidance?
Visual, Verbal, Manual, Mechanical
What is Guidance?

What is intrinsic feedback?
Feedback that comes from within.
What is extrinsic feedback?
Feedback that comes from a coach.
What is concurrent feedback?
Feedback a performer receives during the activity.
What is terminal feedback?
Feedback received after the the activity.
What is mental rehearsal?
