OCP, antipsychotics, antidepressants
list signs of DS - how long after XLA do symptoms arise?
2-3 days post XLA
dull aching throb, bad taste, discharge, halitosis, pain not improving w/ analgesia
DS tx
LA, irrigate w/ saline, remove debris, avogyl sedative dressing
what can mimic DS?
sequestrum
where in mandible is bone very thin?
lingual posterior mandible
give 3 groups of drugs that cause MRONJ
bisphosphonates (-dronate)
RANKL inhibs - denosumab
Anti-angiogenics (bevacizumab, sunitinib, alfibercep)
what is ORN and what causes it? what are these pts prone to?
osteoradionecrosis of the jaw
pts who have had H&N cancer radiotherapy
avascular bone prone to MRONJ
give signs of ORN
bone not healing
severe pain
recurring infections
halitosis
orofacial fistula
suppuration
pathological fracture looking deficit in jaw
what is considered normal mouth opening & trismus? (mm) mild, moderate and severe trismus?
norm = 30-40mm
Trismus = <30mm
mild trismus = 20-30mm
Moderate = 10-20mm
Severe = <10mm
