down’s
cleidocranial dysplasia/dysostosis
what radiograph for horizontal/vertical parallax of canine?
horizontal - PA
vertical - occlusal & DPT
CBCT can also be used
what do conservative, interceptive, exposure, surgical and transplantation methods involve?
conservative - nothing
interceptive - remove primary tooth
exposure - open or closed technique, use ortho to realign tooth, XLA primary to let 3 come in
surgical - XLA tooth surgically, C will be kept or if there is good contact between 2 and 4
transplantation - rarely used as can cause resorption of transplanted tooth, tooth from diff area placed in space
Exposure & realignment - explain difference between open and closed techniques
open - flap repositioned apically or palatal window
closed - ortho bracket and gold chain for traction
what flap is usually raised for XLA canines? what can be used post op
palatal envelope flap
dressing plate can be used post op
why is saline irrigation required for bone removal? what must be ensured to be removed?
heat generation can cause necrotic bone formation
ensure all follicular tissue removed otherwise can undergo cystic formation
