adding a texture to a pic / flat colour background

Answer 1

1. in PS, create texture + save as JPG
2. in AI, select graphic to modify, go to ‘Transparency’ panel and ‘Make Mask’, unticking ‘Clip’.
3. click on Mask thumbnail in ‘Transparency’ to activate it and File\Place\your texture

You can go back to PS to edit your texture by going to the ‘Links’ panel and clicking edit icon atbottom.
