TB test
A
Inject 0.1 ml tuberculin intradermally make a induration of 6mm x2: check in 2-3 days; 1-3 weeks in between
If positive, no need to repeat
Don’t need to do test: hx of TB positive, on TB treatment
If one positive–> TB positve–> must confirm with CXR
No risk factor: induration> 15mm
Close contact/ immune problem: >5mm
High risk job: >10mm
Note that you have to feel for induration
No positive TB no symptoms, no treatment
Close contact without S&S: latent treatment: rifampin 10mg/kg (max 600mg/ day) OD x 4 months
