Typed messages, can use videos.

Usually moderated.

Might not know who other people are.
What are the features of text (SMS) message?
Typed messages symbols “Smileys” can send pictures.
What are the advantages of text (SMS) messages?
Don’t have to be online at the same time.
What are the disadvantages of text (SMS) message?
Sending pictures is slow and low quality may not know if message has arrived or been read.
What are the features of emails?
Typed message, attach files, software can include spam filters archives, spellcheck, address book etc.
What are the advantages of email?
Don’t have to be online at the same time. Messages can be filtered to stop unwanted emails, costs less than post, calls or faxes.
What are the disadvantages of emails?
Must have access to smartphone, computer, Internet & email address. Spam, can’t send large attachments, address has to be accurate.
What are the features of fax?
Sends image of document through telephone line.
What are the advantages of fax?
Cheaper then post, arrives quickly, more secure than email.
What are the disadvantages of fax?
Usually no colour. No moving images or attachments.
