More formal than spoken
Great way to directly contact one person/business.
Cons:
Takes a while to do compared to other communication.
Need to pay to send (stamp)

Fast
Can be used globally
Can get response quickly from recipient
Cons:
Viruses / spam/gets sent to junk
Not everyone checks their e-mail regularly

Pros
Easy to send to a large number of recipients at the same time

Easy to delete or ignore
Target segment may not be regular phone users
