look at the MA, the over speed trip is underneath a GEC and on the side of a mistsubishi

if a GEC trips it will stop running- no sound

if a mitsubishi trips it will keep running and make a sound but no 110’or 415 output

they will over speed, and oh must reset the DC supply before you reset the MA or they will just over speed again

other governors will still govern and run the compressors, it won’t turn the compressor off on the comp contact or switch will do that

if there is a faulty compressor governor how will you know?

fluctuation in main res between low and safety valve setting. you might hear the safety valve if it’s in the lead cab if you hear it and the main red is 700 it’s a faulty safety valve but to identity which control governor is defective trip each circuit breaker individually until you get a steady needle on MR

why pressure is the safety valve set?

how can you tell if the leak is main res

go to emergency if the MR needle drops it’s MR issue

how to identify loss of MR

gauge drops
compressor runs continuously
LP flag raises

how can you find a main res leak

cut out and go for a walk

if your leak is in the lead carriage and there is no CE available

disabled

if there is a MR leak in the lead and a competent employee is available

manual release SPB lower isolate panto motors all out move passengers door loop bypas isolate VICERS isolate compressor governor no airbags no whistle one MA the CE will chanrge the BP and then close BIVICS from another motor car power/brake from the lead with the BIVICS closed emergency brake only max 15

if the MR leak is in any other car than lead motor do you need a competent employee

if you lose MR and the leak is in another motor car

you just turn the yellow techav BIVICS can be open in the lead power brake as normal on the air max speed 30

what do you do if the main res tank is ruptured?

isloate delivery cocks compressor contractor off isolate compressor governor

if the automatic drain valve is broken

same as reuotured MR tank and tie off the rubber hose if you can’t blank the hose bogie 1 will lose brake cylinder pressure

if the MR hose between cars breaks

close the cocks on either end safety valve may blow occasionally as the pipe is not continuous but everything still has MR

which cars do you need a competent employee to move the train with a brake pipe defect which brake would you use

if you get a rupture in branch between brake pipe to triple valve
