when did the cold war start:
after ww2 one day after it started 2nd september 1945
it erupted with nuclear weapons
berlin wall-1961;
After WW2: the victors held a conference in Yalta/ Poster dam where they took charge of the four areas in Germany eastern side-USSR
other 3 western areas gave to the other allies, Britain France and USA
Stalin’s soviet union’s area communist and struggling poor and economy failing but western sides capitalist and slaying so made Stalin jealous eg. berlin act-1948-49
where Stalin tried to attempt to starve the western citizens but the allies came on planes and supplied them
Stalin had enough of everything and gave permission to the east German leader that they can build their wall
so in 1961 built a wall between western and eastern side so couldn’t visit other side
only until november 9th 1989 id the wall get broken down
bay of pigs invasion-1961:
newly elected president of America-JFK planned to invade Cuba and overthrow the communist regime
failed
did so as his people expected it from him but also did it behind the other allies backs
pushed Fidel Castro-leader of Cuba- to seek further support from the soviet union to place nukes
tension between USA and Ussr got huger.
