Individual loss of motivation in a team player due to lack of performance identification when individual efforts are not recognised.
What is the Ringlemann effect?
When group performance decreases with group size.
How can a coach avoid social loafing?
- reward players
- give players specific roles within the team
- use goal setting
- use video analysis and feedback
- vary practice to maintain motivation
