Q

What is cognitive reinstatement?

A

When a witness is back at the scene of the crime where the memory was first encoded it triggers the memory of the event. Sometimes it isn’t practical to take witnesses back to the crime scene so the witnesses are asked trivial questions like the weather, what they were wearing to recreate the setting and help trigger memory
