Cognative Learning Flashcards
What are the 5 parts to cognitive learning and the order
1) whole learning
2) problem solving
3) past experiences
4) insight
5) intervening variables
What is whole learning
Learning the skill in its entirety
It uses meathods of practice
What is problem solving
The coach will present them with a problem
They make a sense of incoming data
What is past experiences
The performer will use schemas to help them solve the problem, this only depends on what stage of learning they are at though
What is insight learning
It encourages performer to think for themselves
They need to have perception and intelligence to understand the problem
What is intervening variables
It causes a solution
It’s things such as time and space it is not trial and error but performer will think for themselves
It is the mental processes that occur between the stimulus and then the response
Who came up with this theory
The gestaltists
What type of theory is this
Perceptual, it links to information processing
