Q

How does knowledge from cognitive psychology apply to dementia?

A

Tulving LTM - Episodic memories (Autobiographical) are affected before semantic (factual) explains why dementia patients loss most recent memories first - Diaries and notes can aid this
Baddeley - Dementia study found that they struggled with dual tasks (verbal + visual) Therefore when speaking to a dementia patient make sure there is no external distraction so they can focus on what you are saying
