Oxygen System Test

A

Check O2 Masks

  • Selector set to 100%
  • Configure digital audio panel
    1. Select MASK on (knob out)
    2. Select INPH on (knob out), set vol
    3. Select SPKR ON (S.T. knob out), set vol
  • HOT MIC control wheel switch - ON
  • Slide TEST/SHUTOFF level on O2 mask
    1. Observe blinker momentarily yellow and listen for oxygen flow through speaker
  • De-select MASK and select BOOM
  • Select SPKR - As required

Fire Detection Test

If BAGG EXTG remains illuminated

Press TEST while verifying:

  • Warnings:
    1. APU FIRE
    2. ENG 1-2 FIRE
    3. BAGG SMOKE
  • Cautions:
    1. APU FIREDET FAIL
    1. E1-2 FIREDET FAIL
  • Fire Handles Illuminate
  • BAGG EXTG button illuminated
  • Master Caution Warning lights illuminate
  • Aural Fire Bell

If BAGG EXTG remains illuminated, wait 6+ seconds and perform test again. DO NOT press BAGG EXTG button (may cause cargo extinguishers to discharge)

APU Starting Sequence

A

AOM p.49

  1. Verify min battery volts
    - 23.5 for battery start
    - 19 for GPU start
  2. If battery start, Avionics Master 1 and 2 off
    3a. Fuel Pump - On
    - PUMP SEL to 2A, 2B, or 2C
    3b. If crossfeed required:
    - TANK 1 PUMP PWR - ON
    - XFEED - LOW 2
  3. APU Bleed - CLOSED
  4. If AH-900, wait until AHRS 1-2 ALN on EICAS
  5. APU Master knob - ON
    - Wait 3 sec or until EGT dashes disappear
  6. APU Master knob - START
    - Observe EICAS and monitor APU for normal start
  7. If APU using battery power:
    - Avoinics Master 1 and 2 - ON after the EICAS “APU GEN OVLD” CAS extinguishes
  8. Verify proper APU GEN voltage (~28v) on MFD electrical page and power to electrical buses
  9. APU Bleed - OPEN or CLOSED
    - wait 3 minutes after start before opening the APU bleed valve
    - Both Pack - ON or OFF
    - XBLEED - OPEN or AUTO
    - Shed Buses - AUTO or OVRD (OVRD will power Shed Buses)
