Longshore drift is the movement of sediment
down the coastline.
Label wave and wind direction.
Label swash at the same angle as the wind.

Label the backwash (comes back down the beach at 90 degrees due to gravity)

What stops longshore drift?
A
A hard engineering method called groynes can stop longshore drift. They are designed specifically to stop the sediment moving along the beach.
