Q

HOW DOES CLIMATE CHANGE INCREASE COASTAL FLOODING RISK?

A
  1. Eustatic change
  2. Ocean Acidification
    - more co2 absorbed by oceans makes the PH of the water (7.9) acidify
    - more solution will occur and lead to rapid erosion
  3. Extreme Weather
    more flooding = more weathering
  4. Ecosystem Damage
-ocean acidification destroys coral reefs vital to natural protection of SIDS
    - harder for mangrove forests to grow in unpredictable weather
