What is the COAST score?
A
Coagulopathy of severe trauma score. A rapid & highly specific predictor of acute traumatic coagulopathy in adult blunt trauma.
Assesses 5 descriptors:
• Entrapment
• SBP
• Temp
• Likelihood of chest inj req intervention
• Likelihood of intra-abdo or pelvic inj req
intervention

Varible / Value / Score
- Entrapment: No = 0 / Yes = 1
- SBP: >100 = 0 / 90-100 = 1 / <90 = 2
- Temp: >35 = 0 / 32-35 = 1 / <32 = 2
- Ch. Dec.: No = 0 / Yes = 1
- Abdo/pelvis: No = 0 / Yes = 1
