CNS Stimulant Mechanism of Action
Either increase monoamine release or inhibit monoamine reuptake
Net result is increased Dopaminee activity in the synapse,

Methamphetamine (Adipex)
Cocaine
Cocaine
Powerful Stimulant. Topical anesthetic. Inhibits Monoamine Reuptake. Tachycardia, euphoria, depression as drug wears off. Not addictive unless in crack form…Snorted cocaine can still cause a physiologic dependence though.
Meth and other amphetamines
Immediate stimulation and euphoria, high potential for addiction and abuse. Increases level of all NTs by inhibiting reuptake.
Other Abused Stimulants
GHB- date rape drug
MDMA - ecstasy (meth derivative)
BAth Salts- amphetamine-like stimulant called Cathinones that look like epsom salt.
