What is clubfoot
A
Is a condition in which one or both feet are twisted into an abnormal position at birth

Describe the Epidemiology of clubfoot
A
- The male-to-female ratio is 2:1.
- Bilateral involvement is found in 30-50% of cases.
- 10% chance of a subsequent child being affected if the parents already have a child with a clubfoot.

How is clubfoot diagnosed?
A
Ultra sound in utero or on observation of child when born.

When is treatment of this condition most beneficial?
A
- As soon as it is diagnosed in order to minimize problems down the road.
- Probability of correcting the condition is highest if treatment is begun during the first two weeks of the child’s life.

What are the signs of clubfoot in bone?
A
Fibula: Shortening is common.
talus is extruded anterolaterally and is uncovered and can be palpated.
Navicular and cuboid is medially subluxated

What are the signs of clubfoot in muscle?
A
- Atrophy of the leg muscles, especially in the peroneal group
- The calf is of a smaller size and remains so throughout life,
