Q

Why was the Kyoto Summit a failure?

A
  • Most counties didn’t take it seriously and all targets breached. - The USA despite producing 21% of carbon emissions globally refused to sign as it was “damaging to economy”
  • China wasn’t need to cut emissions because it wasn’t a industrial giant but now produces the most globally

Q

What was the global Carbon Credits scheme?

A

Each country limited to the amount of carbon it produced, however it was flawed because each country monitored their own levels and people could buy and trade credits e.g China
