What are some requests made by clients that are not compatible with the scope of practice of a personal trainer?
If facts are discovered during the initial interview that would establish incompatibility, it is important for the PT to provide the person with an option to receive services through a referral process.

No, the PT has no obligation to train an uncompatiable client.

What is the purpose of completing a Client-PT Agreement?
To have a clear agreement on the duty and responsibilities of not only the PT but client as well

What is the purpose and value of informed consent?
The informed consent form gives clients information about the content and process of the program delivery system.
It ensures that the participant knows and u destiny’s the risks and circumstances associated with the program.
When should informed consent be obtained?
Should be conveyed both verbally and in writing from the client prior to any resting or participation.
From whom should informed consent be obtained?
From the client (consent given to personal trainer)
List and describe the stage of readiness for change.
- Precontemplation: the person does not intend to increase physical activity and is not thinking about becoming physically active
- Contemplation: the person intends to increase physical activity and is giving it thought now and then, but is not yet physically active
- Prepariation: the person is engaging in some activity, accumulating at least 30 mins of moderate intensity physical activity at least one day per week but not on most days of week
- Action: the person is accumulating at least 30 mins of moderate intensity physical activity on 5 or more days of the week, but has done so for less than 6 months
- Maintenance: the person is accumulating at least 30 mins of moderate intensity physical activity on 5 or more days of the week, and has done so for 6 months or more
