Bai Hu Tang (White Tiger Decoction)
Clears Qi-level heat, drains Stomach fire, generates fluids, and alleviates thirst
Four Bigs symptoms due to excess Heat in the Qi level or Yangming channel: High fever with aversion to heat but not to cold, profuse sweating, a red face, severe thirst and desire to drink cold beverages, irritability, incoherent speech, headache, toothache, bleeding gums or nose
T: red with dry yellow coat
P: surging, full or slippery, rapid
NOTE: In Chinese literature The White Tiger is a symbol of the direction West, which corresponds metal. The property of metal is cool to engender water, the same as Bai Hu Tang

Zhu Ye Shi Gao Tang (Lophatherum and Gypsum Decoction)
Clears heat, generates fluids, augments the qi, and harmonizes the Stomach
Qi-level Heat injuring the Qi and Fluid: Fever profuse sweating, fatigue, vomiting, parched mouth and throat, thirst with desire to drink, irritability, nausea and SOB, stifling sensation in the chest
T: red with dry thin coat
P: empty, rapid, thin
NOTE: Also for Summer-Heat injuring Qi and Blood
