Why is the APU outlined in AMBER on the AC Power synoptic when the APU is not running?
This is normal indication. When the APU generator switch is depressed and the APU is no longer running and the APU Master Switch has been deselected for 5 minutes, the APU will be outlined in AMBER on the AC Power synoptic.
What is the approximate APU fuel burn per hour?
The APU burn approximately 260 pounds of fuel per hour on the ground with
APU bleed on and the engines off.
APU fuel flow is not included in the engine fuel flow indictions of the fuel synoptics. However, the FMS fuel burn predictions do account for APU fuel burn when the APU is running.
What prevents ice accumulation on nose cone during engine operation?
A number of bleed air holes around tip of cone assist in de-icing the cone’s outer surface.
What happens if EEC can’t control the engine normally?
Engine reverts to alternate control mode and throttle directly controls N1 speed.
Name some benefits of FADEC.
B-better fuel efficiency
I- improved handling
P-prolonged engine life
E-engine protection
Name some components attached to accessory gear box.
