Classroom Questions Flashcards
Where would you find the procedure for lithium battery fire?
Airplane Flight Manual (AFM)
What is a Consequential Alert (CA) CAS message?
It shares a common cause with an umbrella
How are CAS messages arranged?
Chronologically within color groups, with most recent at the top
What’s the difference between meaning of RED and AMBER Cas message?
RED for immediate awareness and response; Amber for immediate awareness and subsequent response.
Describe the meaning of land as soon as possible
Land without delay where safe approach and landing is assured
What manual would you reference to defer an inoperative item?
(MEL) Minimum Equipment List
What are some manuals found in PlaneBook?
AFM, Operating Manual, MMEL, MOPP, CB, SSPC, PAS FAQs
What’s the function of Door Safety Switch?
When selected, it indicates Amber ON and prevents MED from closing
What are approximate dimensions of G500/G600
G500 - 92x88x26
G600 - 97x95x26
What is high speed cruise?
Mach .90
What is the range and long range cruise?
G500 - 5300 NM
G600 - 6600 NM
Both at .85 Mach
When should APU oil level be checked?
10-30 minutes after shutdown
What is the quickest way to shut down the APU?
Select APU MASTER to OFF
With the APU operating onspeed, what happens when you select STOP?
Blue ON extinguishes inside switch, all loads are shed and APU enters 60 second cool down
What is the indication that air inlet door is properly positioned and APU is ready to start?
READY illuminates in MASTER switch on APU control panel and OHTPS
What items can be powered by aux hydraulic pump?
Flaps, Landing gear, inboard brakes, inboard parking brakes, cabin door, nose wheel steering
What is the purpose of the PTU?
Provides operational redundancy to left hydraulic system
What cools the hydraulic fluid?
Fuel
When can hydraulic fluid in reservoir be accurately measured with sight glass?
When system is pressurized
What happens if both fuel boost pumps stop operating?
The engine is able to suction feed below 20,000. Above 20,000 the engine will perform erratically and flame out.
What is the purpose of the ejector and how does it operate?
It keeps the hopper full. It’s a low pressure, high volume jet pump with no moving parts
What’s the difference between the intertank and crossflow valve?
Intertank valve allows fuel to gravity flow between hoppers and crossflow valve connects pump manifolds
What is the capacity of each hopper?
1100 lbs for G500 and 1170 lbs for G600
What is the purpose of the ventilation system?
Allows air and fuel vapor to flow freely in order to prevent over and under pressurization
What causes AC legend of AC/DC RESET switch light to activate?
Fault within Main AC bus or Emerg AC, logic fault within BPCU or relay or component failure
What is the purpose of the GCU’s
They work with aircraft electrical system to provide quality power
Name some computers that control electrical power system?
GCU, BPCU, ESC
Why does transfer of power between Ext AC and APU result in BPT?
APU generator and Ext AC power are not frequency controlled by GCU and BPCU
How many computers control the fly-by-wire flight control system.
Two computers plus a BFCU
Name some protective features of the fly-by-wire flight control system.
A-AOA limiting,
H-High speed protection
R-Rudder load protection
S-Speed brake auto-retract
What are the four flight control modes?
Normal, alternate, direct, and backup.
What are two types of flight control actuators?
Hydraulic Actuator (HA) and Electric Backup Hydraulic Actuator (EBHA)
