Classification Flashcards
An organism that has eukaryotic cells that is multicellular, heterotrophs with a sensory nervous system
Animal
A method in which organisms are grouped into sets with similar characteristics
Classification
Prokaryotes genetically different than Eubacteria. They live in extreme environments and don’t have. A cell wall made of peptidoglycan.
Domain Archaea
A trait that only appears in some members of a taxonomic group. The trait shows evolutionary relationships.
Derived Characteristic
A kingdom of prokaryotes that are in Domain Archaea.
Archaebacteria
A reference tool in which a series of choices between alternative characteristics leads progressively towards to identification of a species.
Dichotomous Key
List the seven taxa from largest to smallest
Kingdom-Phylum-Class-Order-Family-Genus-Species
A term used in place of phylum in plants
Division
A taxonomic category in which organisms are in the same phylum but have different orders.
Class
Normal bacteria, they have a cell wall made of peptidoglycan.
