2oz spirit
Sugar cube
4 dashes bitters
Splash soda water
Big ice cube
Orange and lemon peel

3-4 dashes angostura
0.5oz Benedictine
2oz rye whiskey
Lemon twist
Stir in glass with big ice cube until just frosty. Squeeze over lemon peel and add to glass.
Manhattan
2 dashes angostura
1oz sweet vermouth
2oz rye whiskey
In mixing glass with ice, strain into chilled cocktail coupe. Garnish with 3 cherries on cocktail pick, on edge.
Sazerac
1 sugar cube
4 dashes Peychaud’s bitters
2oz rye whiskey
Absinthe rinse (with atomizer)
Mix in glass with lots of ice, serve up (no ice)
Improved Whiskey Cocktail
1 sugar cube
1 dash angostura
1 dash Peychaud’s
1 bar spoon absinthe
1 bar spoon maraschino liqueur
Dash of soda
Muddle before adding whiskey
2oz rye whiskey
Add ice cube and stir
Long lemon twist
Basic Sour recipe
2oz spirit
1oz lemon juice
0.5oz syrup
1 egg white
2 dash of bitters
Whiskey Sour
1.5oz whiskey
0.5oz lemon juice
0.5oz syrup
0.5oz egg white
Shake dry and wet, serve either neat or on the rocks.
Garnish with either half orange wheel, or peel and cherry.
Try with 1/2oz orange juice.
New York Sour
1.5oz bourbon
0.75oz lemon juice
0.75oz syrup
Egg white
Dry red wine
Shake with ice, pour into chilled rocks glass. Pour over red wine with pour spout using bar spoon to keep separation.
Bee’s Knees
2oz gin
0.75oz honey syrup
0.75oz lemon juice
Shake with ice, double strain into cocktail coupe. Pollen to garnish?
Sidecar
2oz cognac
0.75oz cointreau
0.75oz lime juice
0.25oz rich demerera syrup
Shake with ice and orange cheek for stone fruitiness. Double strain into chilled coupe. Ask if guest wants sugared rim (omit sugar in recipe if yes)
Garnish with lemon twist.
Martini
4 dashes orange bitters or dash of olive brine for dirty martini
2oz gin
1oz dry vermouth
Stir in mixing glass with ice, strain into chilled cocktail coupe and garnish with orange peel. (Or olive for dirty)
Pornstar Martini
1oz vanilla vodka (or 0.75oz normal vodka + 0.25oz licor 43)
1.5oz passionfruit juice or purée
0.25oz lime juice
Half an egg white
Dry and wet shake, pour into chilled coupe. Pop in half passion fruit, seeds loosened. Serve with little glass of champagne and a spoon.
The Last Word
1oz London dry gin
1oz chartreuse
1oz maraschino liqueur
1oz lime juice
Shake and double strain into chilled cocktail coupe. Garnish with lime wheel or brandied cherry
Variation with rosemary sprig doused in absinthe, light on fire while shaking.
White Lady
1.5oz gin
1oz triple sec
0.5oz lemon juice
Shake and double strain into chilled coupe.
Cosmopolitan
1.5oz citrus vodka
0.5oz Cointreau
1oz cranberry juice
0.25oz lime juice
Double strain into martini glass. Cut little cheek of orange, hold above glass, heat with lighter, and squeeze gently.
Negroni
1oz gin
1oz sweet vermouth
1oz Campari
Stir in mixing glass. Strain into rocks glass with one big ice cube and decorate with an orange wheel.
Americano
1oz Campari
1.5oz sweet vermouth
Splash of soda
Orange twist
Pour all into highball glass with a splash of soda water. Add ice and top with more soda water. Garnish with orange twist.
Aperol Spritz
3oz cava
2oz aperol
1oz agua con gas
Orange slice
Directly into wine glass filled with ice cubes.
Boulevardier
1.5oz bonded bourbon
0.75oz sweet vermouth
0.75oz Campari
Stir with ice, strain into coupe. Twist over orange peel, but don’t drop in glass!
Collins
2oz spirit
0.5oz lime juice
0.5oz lemon juice
0.75oz syrup
2oz soda
Lime wheel or lemon twist
Cherry
Shake with ice then double strain into highball glass filled with ice (either first, or after put the soda)
Highball
2oz whiskey
4-6oz ginger ale or club soda
