No lameness at walk, short stilted gait at trot
Grade II laminitis
Stilted gait at walk, foot can be lifted
Grade III laminitis
Reluctant to walk, resists lifting foot
Grade V laminitis
refuses to move, may become recumbent
What are some radiological abnormalities that are seen with chronic laminitis?
Bone remodeling- "Ski Tips" Distal marginal fractures Osteolysis Osteomyelitis Rotation Sinking Radiolucent lines form hoof wall separation
What is the treatment of acute laminitis?
Plaster of paris
use sole surface as additional WB surface
