CIHD is progressive ischemic heart disease that occurs over many years leading to congestive heart failure.

What is the pathogenesis of CIHD?
A
Slowly progressie ischemic atrophy and myoardial cell death with or without acute ischemic episodes which may be clinically silent

A
- moderate to severe coronary atherosclerosis
- Patchy fibrosis
- Scars from previous MI
- Atrophy of Myocardial cells
