What are chronic injuries?
A
Chronic injuries are injuries that slowly develop due to overuse
E.g. tennis elbow

What are stress fractures?
A
- A stress fracture is a tiny crack in the surface of a bone caused by overuse
- Stress fractures are common in distance running events, tennis and basketball
- Overtraining can cause stress fractures, pain will usually stop with rest

What are shin splints?
A
- Shin splints is chronic shin pain due to the inflammation of muscles and stress on the tendon attachments to the surface of the tibia
- Through excessive use, the tendons connecting to muscles to the tibia become inflamed, leading to pain
- This type of injury is common in distance runners and football players
- Being overweight or wearing inadequate footwear can be the cause

A
- Tendonitis is the deterioration of a tendon in response to chronic overuse and repetitive strain
- For example, tennis elbow

Symptoms:
