(criterion as it exists in the world) all tasks or aspects of permanence on the job

actual criterion
Want to understand as much of the ultimate as possible, so we need to understand the actual criterion. real world representation of ultimate criterion
criterion
evaluative standard that can measure employee success or failure
relevance
Overlap area is relevance - where actual overlaps w/ ultimate
This piece is construct validity
deficiency
Anything that exists in ultimate criterion but not actual criterion is deficiency
contamination
Anything that exists in actual criterion but not ultimate is contamination
We want to make sure we’re not measuring things that are not job related
error/bias
Poor vs. perfect criterion measurement
