40-60 yrs old MC 1° malignancy of hand, sternum, scapula

A
pain, swelling (duration of sx 2-5 yrs); slow growth = late Sx

Chondrosarcoma location
A
Any bone preformed in cartilage - most commonly pelvis and proximal femur; also proximal humerus, ribs, scapula, distal femur, proximal tibia, craniofacial bones; Metaphyseal or diaphyseal

Chondrosarcoma plain films
A
cartilaginous matrix; large, lytic, poorly defined; calcification in 2/3: popcorn, stippled, arcs & rings; large soft tissue mass; more calcification = less aggressive
