A

HMG-CoA enzyme inhibition, preventing the synthesis of cholesterol, lowering LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, raises HDL slightly

Obtain dietary history, assess liver enzymes (ALT, AST), watch for muscle tenderness, watch CK levels, cholesterol levels, and triglyceride levels
