A

-Lower BP, prophylactic angina pectoris treatment
-Some of these meds are used as antiarrhythmic-> reduce myocardial O2 demand

How it works

A

Prevent calcium from moving into the cells of vascular smooth muscles and myocardial. Dilates coronary arteries
Some of these meds decrease AV conduction-> decrease HR

A

Nursing Interventions

A

Assess BP, P, Monitor I&O, daily weights, Monitor for HF, Assess angina and periodic ECG, do not open or crush SR tablets, May be given for neurological issues in subarachnoid hemorrhage
