A
Blocks conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II (potent vasoconstrictor)==> systemic vasodilation

SE
A
A–>Angioedema
C–>Cough
E–> Elevated K+, ED
Hypotension, rash, dizziness, agranulocytosis

Nursing Interventions
A
Monitor BP, fluid overload, increased K+, BUN, creatinine, AST/ALT, decreased Na, H/H, Monitor for S/S of angioedema

Patient teaching
A
Monitor BP, report cough, sore throat, hoarseness, swelling, slow position changes due to orthostatic hypotension, avoid high K+ foods, do not use Salt subs.
