discharge is usally more watery in nature and eyes are less inflamed than with gonococcal opthalmia neonatorum
diagnosis
urine or cervical swab is tested via PCR for chlamycial DNA
* can’t be cultured on agar
* gram stain shows many PMNs but no bacteria
treatment
antibiotics
