Female Chinchillas have a seperated urethra, vagina and anus. When females are not in heat or parturition, the vaginal membrane closes, making it harder to sex chinchillas. How can you tell the difference between the sexes?
Flip the urethral papilla up. Males will have a longer papilla, while females have a little nub.
