What is the LIMIT AGE in relation to developmental milestones?
Age when a skill should have been mastered by 97.5% of children (2 standard deviations)
What is meant by normal developmental variations?
e.g. there are many methods to crawling; comando; 4-point; bum-shuffle - these are normal variations and not an indication of anything
Up to what age do we compensate for babies born prematurely?
2 years
What direction does development progress?
Cephalocaudal - head to trunk to limbs
What must occur before a baby can master a skill?
Maturation of the nervous system
