- self evaluation moderated by body shape

Describe the Maudsley Model for ED
A
- family based therapy
- parents in charge of refeeding child
- starvation is such that child too cognitively impaired to ‘fight’ the illness
- until cognitive function restored, treatment of underlying problems impossible
- AN externalised - support the patient, fight the illness
- gradual return of responsibility back to patient
- any additional MD addressed in final phase of treatment
