Rett Syndrome
The diagnostic criteria for Rett syndrome is
Regression of cognitive/motor skills
Show deceleration of head growth, loss of motor, intellectual, and speech abilities, REPETITIVE HAND MOVEMENTS
Rett Syndrome
Show repetitive hand movements such as hand-to-mouth licking, grabbing of clothing or hair, and hand wringing

What is the inheritance patter of Rett syndrome
X-linked dominant
-99% sporadic cases
In males that receive the abnormal MECP2 X-gene, the Rett syndrome is
-Survival w/ symptoms in females
Lethal

Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
ODD lasts at least 6 months. What is the treatment?
Cognitive behavioral therapy
A childhood mood disorder characterized by frequent temper outbursts (at least 3 times per week)
-Behavior out of proportion to situation
Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD)
How can we differentiate between ODD and DMDD?
