-AP (anterior-posterior) lateral ratio:

Pt with COPD AP ratio = 2:2

Anterior, posterior and lateral chest wall
Chest excursion:
- Place hands posteriorly base of lungs, thumbs towards spine
- When pt deep breath should feel for chest expansion
