Cheat Sheet Questions indoc Flashcards
Dry Runway Criteria for Dispatch (FOM)
- BR or FG (other than FZFG) forecast or reported
- Precip. (not freezing or frozen) forecast to end at least 30 minutes before arrival
- PROB of precip (not freezing or frozen) @ ETA <50%
-Snow, ice, frozen precip on RWY & braking action “good” by similar type.
All forzen precip ended & none foreast between “good” braking action report & ETA
Wet/Slippery Runway Criteria for Dispatch (FOM)
- Any intensity RA or DZ forecast or reported @ETA
- FZFG forecast or reported @ETA
- BA of similar type are unavail & any freezing/frozen precip w/ in the last 24 hours
- Snow, ice, frozen precip. on RW & BA “medium, poor, nil” by similar type
- any DOUBT if dry RWY criteria met, or of runway condition then PIC assumes wet runway
Contaminated Runway Operations TO or LD
Wet
Snow or Slush
Poor
Wet - TOFL +15%
Snow or Slush - TOFL +30%
Poor - TOFL +50%
What does TOFL mean?
Take off field length.
Guarantees :
Accelerate & Stop
Accelerate & GO
Climb Gradient after V2 guaranteed (2.4%)
For flight planning purposes:
Only can use ___% of any forecast headwind
We must use ___% of any forecast tailwind
Only can use 50% of any forecast headwind
We must use 150% of any forecast tailwind
No Takeoff or Landing when (per our FOM) (5)
- Frost, Snow, Ice on Aircraft (takeoff only)
- Reported or active FZRA, FZDZ
- NIL Braking
- Slush/Wet Snow >1/2”
- Dry Snow >4”
Minimum Runway Length
5000 ft. WET OR DRY in order to land.
• Operations below these limits are prohibited without a review of performance data and authorization by ops.
How do you know the plane is airworthy?
Flight Log Condition
A
B
C
Flight Logs – accepting and returning A B C
A airworthy
B something’s broke
C Can’t be MEL and COSTLY
When must you do a VOR check?
Every Flight ( Not every leg)
What does one pilot do? What does the other do?
At the destination FBO: One pilot escorts passengers into FBO
Other pilot :
Shut down plane
Immediate cabin check for lost items
Post-flight
Short trip – LESS THAN 400 nm
what do you do?
Use short trip table
Altitude and speeds to fly
Fuel Efficiency cruisetable
Minimum Landing Fuel Reserve
1500 lbs (should really be more like 2000 minimum)
What do we climb at?
What do we descend at?
Climb 250 until .63 mach until optimum cruise
Descent 280 unless a different speed is required by ATC or a STAR
