Reduce BP/ heart filling / contraction strength / arterial resistance.

Produce nitric oxide, increase cGMP in muscle cells to relax muscle and dilate vessels.
GTN - fast acting, short shelf life, metabolised by liver.

Headaches, Cerebral Vasodilation, Hypotension, Dizziness and Postural weakness

Mechanism of Statins (Lipid - cholesterol lowering drugs)…
A
HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, rate limiting step in cholesterol synthesis, up regulates LDL cholesterol receptors.

GI upset, abnormal liver tests and muscle problems e.g. myopathy.
