What is the definition of psychology?
A social science that uses scientific research practices to understand behaviour and mental processes in a controlled setting.
What are the goals of psychology?
- To describe behaviours and mental processes.
- To explain why they occur.
- To predict when they will occur.
- To control these occurrences.
What is critical thinking?
The process of thoughtfully analyzing and probing the questions, statements, and arguments of others.
How can you practice critical thinking?
Be skeptical and open minded. Insist on evidence. Consider alternatives. Don’t generalize or oversimplify.
