Chapter 9 Flashcards
What is a Knowledge Management System (KMS)?
It is an organized collection of people, procedures, software, databases, and devices used to create, store, share, and use the organization’s knowledge and experience.
What are the different types of knowledge in KMS?
Explicit knowledge and Tacit Knowledge.
What is Explicit Knowledge?
It is objective knowledge that can be measured and reported .
What is Tacit knowledge?
It is knowledge that is hard to measure and document. It is not objective.
What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)?
It is the ability of computers to mimic functions o the human brain.
What are some AI applications.
Making medical diagnoses.
Determining faults in mechanical devices.
Assisting in designing and developing computer systems.
What are Artificial Intelligence systems?
An organized collection of people, procedures, hardware, software, data, and knowledge needed to develop computer systems and machines that demonstrate characteristics of intelligence.
What are some major branches in AI?
Expert Systems
Robotics
Vision Systems
Voice Recognition
Learning Systems
Neural Networks
What are some other AI Applications?
Genetic Algorithm
Intelligent Agent
What is a virtual reality system?
It is a system that enables one or more users to move in computer-simulated environments.
What is an Immersive virtual reality?
It is when a user becomes fully immersed in an artificial virtual environment generated by a computer.
What is a domain expert?
It is an individual who has expertise in the expert system.
What is a knowledge engineer?
It is an individual who has training in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of an expert system.
What is a knowledge user?
It is an individual who uses and benefits from the expert system.
What is an inference engine?
It is an engine that seeks information and relationships form knowledge bases, and provides answers like a human expert.
