- DEVELOPMENTS IN TRANSPORTATION
A) Modes of Transport.
-Improvement in size and speed of diff modes of transport.
-Example: Airbus380. Aeroplanes are getting bigger and faster.
B) Transport Infrastructure.
-developing more efficient and integrated transport infrastructure
-Example: Changi Airport. It is building Terminal 5 to handle more flights. We also have plans to build the KL-Singapore High Speed Rail. - GROWTH OF Multinational Corporations (MNCs)
- As MNCs grow in no. and size, they control more aspects of international trade and investments.
- Examples:
a) Apple. Apple sources raw materials frm all over the world before assembling their mobile phones in countries like China. The phones are then sold globally.
b) Starbucks. Starbucks sources coffee beans from all over the world before roasting them in the US. The roasted beans are then delivered to their outlets globally. - ADVANCES IN TECHNOLOGY
- Tech. advances in communication have facilitated the ease of sending and accessing info.
- Example: Increasing no. of people in the world are getting access to the internet.
- Invention of mobile phones had also led to the development of various social media platforms such as WhatsApp or Instagram.
