What are the factors that increase diversity in SG?

1. IMMIGRATION POLICIES
   -Open Immigration policy due to low birth rate and worsening age dependency ratio, gov.
   actively encouraging foreigners to come to work in SG.
   -We import both highly skilled and less skilled foreign workers based on diff. industry needs.
   -Suitable immigrants who are willing stay and contribute to SG are encouraged to become Permanent Residents (PRs) or naturalised citizens.
2. ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES
   - SG voted one of the easiest places to do business.
   - Our stable political env. and low corruption attract many foreign businesses to operate here, creating many jobs that offer higher pay and better working conditions.
   - More foreigners hence want to set up businesses or look for job opportunities in SG
3. SOCIO-CULTURAL ENVIRONMENT
   A)Community support.
   -Foreign Ethnic communities tend to gather at certain districts in SG, such as the Thai who gather at Golden Mile.
   -Shops, supermarkets and restaurants that cater to these ethnic communities are also found there.
   -This provides good community support, making foreigners feel more at home.
   B) Safe Environment.
   - Singapore rated the second safest city in the world in a 2014 survey.
   -Low crime rate and safe env. will make foreigners feel safe abt themselves their properties, and about bringing their families here.
   C)Education System.
   -SG education system is well-recognised due to its effectiveness and high standards. We are ranked top in the global Pisa rankings.
   -Motivates foreign students to study in international and local schools of sg.
