- Includes the rights and responsibilities of citizenship.
- Rights: To freedom of speech and religion, which means we are allowed to say what we want and practise the religion we choose. To work, as well as subsidised education and healthcare.
- Responsibilities: Practise responsible free speech and maintain racial harmony. Mandatory for males of age (18 yrs) to attend National Service (NS). - SENSE OF NATIONAL IDENTITY
- Shared belief that we belong to the same country, created through common practises and ways of life.
- Example: Shared belief in meriotcracy. Common practises such as singing the national anthem and reciting the nationla pledge, and speak a common language like English in work and education. We speak Singlish in everyday life. - PARTICIPATION IN PUBLIC AFFAIRS
- Public affairs are issues of general interest or concern to most people in society
- Example: Singaporeans can participate in Our Singapore Conversation (OSC). It is a national level conversation where Singaporeas share aispirations and concerns about the country our government.
