- There is an exchange and appreciation of culture. - EXCHANGE OF KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- The Agency for Science, Technology And Research (ASTAR) is a SG gov agency that focuses on research and innovation.
- At ASTAR, foreign scientists from many diff countries collab with local scientists. There is an exchange of knowledge and skills.
- Example: Their diverse backgrounds helped them in making significant discoveries such as the H1N1 flu vaccine.

- PREJUDICE AND MISCONCEPTIONS
- They are negative beliefs and feelings about a particular grp of ppl.
- Example: Sun Xu who was a Uni student who came from China on a scholarship. He vented his frustrations against Sgreans by labelling them as “dogs”, causing a strong negative response when sgreans heard of it. - COMPETITION OF RESOURCES
A)Competition for infrastructure.
-Sg gets more congested as the population rises from the influx of foreigners. There will be competition over living spaces.
-We may have insufficient housings, transport and healthcare resources to accommodate sudden increase in pop.
-Example: We need new MRT lines and hospitals to meet increased demands.
B)Competition for Opportunities.
-Foreign Talent who come to SG with work permit or employment pass may compete with Sgreans for jobs.
-They may demand lower pay than us or have higher qualifications for the job.
