A state with more than one nation inside its boarders
Multistage nation
When a nation stretches across boarders and across states
Stateless nations
Some nations die not have a state .. ie Palestinians
World systems theory
View the world as much more than the sun if the worlds states
1) world economy has one market and a global division of Labor
2) although the world has multiple states, almost everything takes place within the contest if the world economy
3) World economy has a 3 their striction : core periphery and semi periphery
Commodification
Process of placing a price on a good or service je idea and then trading that idea
Centripetal vs centrifugal
Forces that Unify vs divide within a state
Devolution
Movement of power downwards from the central government to regional governments within the state
Reapportionment
The process by which districts are moved according to population shifts so that each district encompasses approximately the same number of people
Majority minority districts
Packed districts in which a majority of the population is from a minority
