Q

You are in cruise in a normal aircraft. The PNF reaches up and, before you can stop him, he pulls the Engine Fire Switch What happens?

Q

There is a fire. Now what happens when the PNF pulls the Engine Fire Switch?

A
  1. Closes the engine and spar fuel valve
  2. Closes the engine bleed valve
  3. Shuts off hydraulic fluid to the EDP
  4. Depressurizes the related EDP
  5. Trips the related engine generator

Q

What is different about a fire in the APU on the ground vs the air?

A

APU will autoshutdown on the ground and in the air. On the ground it will discharge the fire extinguisher.

It can also be be shut down using the APU Control Panel in the wheel well.

17
Q

How many bottles does the APU have?

A

1

18
Q

How do you know the fire test is successful?

A

EICAS “Fire Test Pass”
