9
Q

What is PMR?

A

Perpendicular Magnetic recording allows for more bits to be placed closer together by placing them upright. (as opposed to longitudinal magnetic recording which aligns bits horizontally)

Q

What is a Heat assisted magnetic recording (HAMR)?

A

this technology uses lasers to temporarily heat the surface of the hard disks when storing data in order to pack more data onto the surface than is normally possible

What is Artificial intelligence?

A

When a computer performs actions that are characteristic of human intelligence.

25
Q

What are intelligent agents?

A

They are programs that perform specific tasks to help make a users work environment more efficient

26
Q

What are application assistants?

A

provide help or assistance for a particular application program. some can detect when the user might be having trouble with the program and automatically offer appropriate advice. others add speech capabilities to common programs such as instant messaging programs

27
Q

What are shopping bots?

A

search online stores to find the best prices for specified products

28
